Dreamin' feat. Packed Rich

OK soooooooo
Back in May this year, I met this really cool dude in Vienna and we sort if clicked from the first moment we met. We had really long talks about music up to the moment when we decided that we could actually write/record a song together.
The lyrics of " Dreamin' " are just pretty random phrases that I had stuck in my head on that day, because I was quite mad at the way some universities treat music and in general how some people tend to think about life n stuff. So I was glad to put these thoughts into a new song.
I was just randomly singing these phrases of how I thought they could fit the piano parts that he had improvised before. We recorded it and just a couple of days later Alexis sent me this rad song. I was super happy with the result and I am even happier to share it with everyone else.
The music video contains some recordings that I've made while driving to Vienna and back. I later put them on my laptop and got creative with the Kaleidoscope effect. well, I kinda escalated with that effect 'cause I thought it looked super cool

oh and Alexis drew my name.
thought it looked pretty cool so I had to put it here

all they do is run and run
trying to get to the sun
cursing at the rain
they might call us insane
'cause we refuse staying the same

'cause we still have hope in our hopeless dreams

Tell me boy

"Tell me boy" is a song that I wrote around last October/November when the autumn/winter-blues hit me once again. There's not much to say about this song as the lyrics already tell everything and I think that each person should make up their own story around it.

I've always wanted to write a song for guitar, because I love the sound of it, but my guitar skills are very limited, or pretty shitty as I would say, so I would never be able to write a "hard" or "difficult" song for this amazing instrument. The main accompaniment is very easy, but I've always wanted to add more to it. And that's where Georg happened. We were jamming at his birthday party a couple of months ago and I decided to play this song. He joined in with his mandolin and I instantly loved the sound. I knew that I wanted him to record this song with me, because it would make the whole song more special, and of course better, in my opinion. We sat together for an afternoon and Georg added his mandolin-, and  even singing- skills to my song and I couldn't be happier with the result.
The video is just a bunch of filming material of what it looks like when we are recording.
And Kebab the cat.

anyways
I hope you enjoy this song

the lyrics:

and we were lonely together
pushing each other away but staying together
every forgotten touch I could remember
while my fighting heart would slowly surrender

Tell me boy when you saw me lying there
did you leave me alone because you didn't care
enough to go through this pain here with me
or were you afraid of what your heart would finally see
2x

I was trying to run away from you
with every step I realised my way was towards you
You were afraid of being trapped by someone else
but the only person to lock you away would be yourself

Tell me boy when you saw me lying there
did you leave me alone because you didn't care
enough to go through this pain here with me
or were you afraid of what your heart would finally see
2x

Tell me boy now you haven't seen me for months
and these scars, as you see, they have healed on these arms
how do you feel when you look straight at me
do you see love or hate, tell me what do you see

Somebody that I used to know - a cover featuring Georg Neureiter

we did it again!
Georg and I decided to sit together once again and cover a pretty cool song. About one week ago we started working on this cover and two days ago we actually recorded it on the Grazer Schlossberg. This video was the first, and only take, because none of us made a big mistake and I was quite happy about that as you may be able to see at the end of the video.

hope you enjoy watching

I can't make you love me - a cover featuring Georg Neureiter

yeah yeah here is my first official cover! And I feel very honoured to be singing it with the wonderful Georg Neureiter. Georg and I actually met for the first time, when we were both playing at the Tubes in Graz and I was playing as his support act. Back then he didn't know that I've seen him perform about a year before and cried during his performance, because it was so touching. Last Wednesday we decided to meet in the park and work on a little cover of one of the truest and most touching songs I know "I can't make you love me". I hope everyone enjoys watching it as much as we enjoyed making it!

31 557 600 s

"31 557 600 s" is a song that I wrote on the 19th of June in 2017. 31 557 600 is the amount of seconds that one year has. Exactly one year before I wrote that song, a, to this day, very special thing happened, so I decided to write song about all the feelings I had concerning that one event. As the song goes on it modulates from f-major to g-major, but I don't really know how that happened, because I wasn't thinking like "wow I am going to modulate from f-major to g-major!!" while writing it. It just happened...somehow.  A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine, Michael Feichtenberger, asked if we wanted to do a music video together. He mentioned the "Reininghausgründe", which is an old beer factory in Graz, that they are planning to tear down in the near future. Therefore, people are trying to make the best out of it as long as it is still standing. I've heard many cool things about that location so I was totally into the idea of making a music video there. We found out later that a very old piano is standing there, which couldn't be any more perfect. Michael, Valentin Hasebe (who did the recording and mixing) and I spent a whole afternoon there and ended up with a pretty cool video.

the lyrics:

thirty-one-million-five-hundred-fifty-seven-thousand-six-hundred seconds
and you still leave my mind open to reckon
to guess how much more time we have and when you're going to leave
me behind with my own lost mind for nobody else to find
for nobody else to find
I was once a small girl who thought she would never be alone
there was a time when we both hadn't known about each other
and my hands still smell like you with your skin under my nails, how true
it's the many things you do to my heart when my head wants to think of you
thirty-one-million-five-hundred-fifty-seven-thousand-six-hundred seconds
and you still leave my mind open to reckon
to guess how much more time we have and when you're going to leave
me behind with my own lost mind for nobody else to find
and a bird starts whining as it sees you go away and leave
me behind with my own lost mind
for nobody else to find
nobody knows
where to find me only you know
nobody knows
where to find me
but now you are gone

Expected End

"Expected End" will always be a little miracle song to me. It was a rainy, shitty Monday when I wrote that song. The overdramatic, whining, little girl I am, I felt very bad about a certain situation so that I actually finished writing and recording the whole song in a few hours. On that day I was horribly worried about something very special to end and I didn't know what to do except to write a song about it. "Expected End" was actually a song for one voice and piano, but when I started recording it on my computer, I added one voice, then another and another and another. I added so many voices that the piano felt unnecessary so I ended up removing it. When I play this song at a concert I still play the "original" piano version, but I also really enjoy the a cappella one.

lyrics:

the doors are closed all windows shut I feel like I am stuck in my own little head's mess there is no going on I feel a little less we tried, we tried until my feet were sore from running away of the truth there is no proof we were not meant to be but now I see there is no proof we could be and I am hurt from falling falling falling falling more in love with you reality hit as I hit the ground now I see you cannot be found the past is past but if you were to ask me to run away with you without a blink and without to think (grammatically incorrect ayee) I would put my end in your hopeless hand but I am hurt from hearing hearing hearing hearing what you cannot say to this day I want you to see that you too, want me to stay but instead you close your eyes and what is left are these few lies about a fairytale that went a little wrong with no happy end but with this song

3 AM

"3AM" is my first song that I decided to upload just one day before my birthday - kind of as a pre-birthday present from me to myself. I always wanted to write my own songs and publish them somewhere online, but I was never sure how to start with it. In December 2017 I finally made myself a big Christmas present and bought a Mac Book and the music software "Logic". I was kinda freaking out with all the different instruments, trashy beats and vocals you are able to put together with just a few clicks. Even though most of my music is totally nothing like "3AM", I decided for it to be the first song that I upload on the internet. I didn't want to publish it without a video, but I also didn't want to make a super complicated video. Therefore I decided to film something that Marie, a very good friend of mine, and I are (usually) very good at; making pancakes.
In the end, I think that it turned out pretty good and I still love watching the video.

here are the lyrics for anyone who is interested:

small salty drops on my leopard coat
as we make our way down the road
thoughts so heavy I drop down on my knees
I prefer drowning my feelings in melodies

and I refuse to run away
'cause there's so many things that make me want to stay
and I wish this pain would go away
but I'm still drowning in thoughts of my mistakes from yesterday

piece by piece I write that note
to tell you guys how I hate it so
we have so many things to tell about each one's needs
but every single one is too afraid to speak

chorus

now it's 3 A.M. and I'm on my own
how I've always hated to be alone
but now I write these songs while I sit on my knees
I will always drown my feelings in melodies

SWITCHING THINGS UP A BIT

Well hello there!
It's been a while and I am sorry about that, but this blog was usually for fashion posts only and I have been getting a bit lazy in this area since music has become even more important to me and is actually the biggest part of my life now.
As most people know, I have started uploading my own music to Youtube and Soundcloud. I am very happy that many people seem to enjoy listening to my songs which also lead to many people asking where/if they can buy/download the songs.
So far I haven't planned on releasing an EP or even a whole album, but I wanted to give everyone the chance to listen to my songs outside Youtube or Soundcloud. Therefore I will start uploading my songs to "Google Sites" where everyone can download my songs for free.
I am also planning on making a lil blogpost about each song. In that kind of blogpost I might just upload the lyrics, say something about the video (if there is one) or even tell a little bit about the background story. We shall see about that.
Every now and then I might still upload a "normal" fashion post, but I will mainly use this blog now for my music journey, that's why I have changed the name from "Hiraelle" to "Fraeulein Astrid".
Thanks for reading
luv luv
