my new single "TWO YEARS" is here!!!

I have a new song for yooouuuu!
This one's called "TWO YEARS" and it's a kind of sassy, kind of calm closure-ish breakup song.
Sometimes it takes a little while to realise certain things, that's all I'm gonna say right now.

Big Big credits go to Paul Wurm, Benno Hiti and Christian Schmidt for helping me with some of the producing!
Paul Wurm for mixing the song and Mathias Garmusch for mastering it!

Alsoooo a big thanks to Harald Leitner for taking the original picture and Felix Paschke for for destroying it with me hehe

I also uploaded a lyric video on youtube:

lyrics:
So I run back and I rewind the times
that you were mean to me
When you told me that I would never go easily
And every time I see a social media post
Of how you’re getting so close
To what you always used to talk about

For two years
I wonder why
For two years
I wonder why

Funny to watch you rebuild a van with her
Thinking how I used to be there
I always wanted to help you achieve your dreams
Not realizing the curtains I sewed
Were the last thing I did for you
You closed them when you left
And no one opened them again

For two years
I wonder why
For two years
I wonder why

For two years
I now know why

"THE FOOL" with Candlelight Ficus is out!!

hello hellooo!

I know I haven't written anything over here for a long time, but I promise I am working on reeeeally cool stuff right now and will have some amazing news soon!

But for now I wanna introduce a single, that came out September 1st with the incredibly talented band "Candlelight Ficus"! We actually wrote this song last year on vacation, while sitting on a beach in Croatia. At first it wasn't planned to come out as a feature single, but as time passed we thought it might actually be a cool idea.

We shot the music video at "Die Scherbe" in Graz, portrayed as sad clowns going out for dinner. And let me tell you: it was very hard to not laugh, while looking at Niki with that make up on. This fantastic make up was done by Laura Scalcinati and I couldn't be happier with the result!

a huge thanks also goes out to Simon Reithofer for the music video and to Mathias Garmusch for mixing and mastering the song!
It was a really cool experience to be working on that song <3

lyrics:

i have been tryin'
to get you off my mind
you opened my eyes
now i'm blind

you took me to your desert
then you promised me a treasure
when i gave you all my hands
you let it go
how was i supposed to measure
all the secrets in your pleasure
i can't figure out your game of stop and go

oooh then you took me all the way
pretending that I'll be okay
thought that i would see the day
when I'm finally here to stay

i have been tryin'
to get you off my mind
you opened my eyes
now i'm blind
i thought all along
that i would get out strong
you proved me right
i was wrong

you handed me the cards
knowing i would play the part
of the fool who stands in line
and has to wait
you knew right from the start
i was dancing in the dark
everybody saw
that i was way too late

then you took me all the way
pretending that I'll be okay
thought that i would see the day
when I'm finally here to stay

i have been tryin'
to get you off my mind
you opened my eyes
now i'm blind
i thought all along
that i would get out strong
you proved me right i was wrong

MY 4TH SINGLE "Perfect Life (field recorder version)" IS OUT!!!

well well well

It took me 2.5 years from writing this song to finally releasing it.

I remember walking home from work at the end of 2020, being fed up with this whole social media, corona and being a musician - situation. I felt like, as a person that performs a lot on stage, is very active on social media and in general a happy and outgoing person, people were often assuming that I must be living such "a perfect life". Which might be true in some way - I love my life and I live a very privileged and amazing life. But there's shitty moments too and I felt like I wasn't being taken serious, whenever I felt really sad about certain situations. So as I was walking home from work, I saw people that I knew, but I didn't wanna say hello and pretend that I was fine - so kept my head down and walked on the other side of the street. Instead of saying hi I started writing the lyrics of "Perfect Life" and as soon as I arrived home, the lyrics were finished. I sat down, took my guitar and finished writing the song. At first, it was based on a voice note on my phone. I imported that recording into my laptop and added vocal harmonies and some pianos. Ever since, this song's been very very close to my heart and I very much enjoyed playing it live at every show. One year after writing the song, I decided to re-record the base of the song. So I went to my parents' house, sat down in my childhood bed, took my dad's old guitar and recorded the song on a field recorder. After recording, I added new vocal harmonies and pianos again. I don't know why, but it took over a year and trying to record many different versions of the song, to decide going for that raw imperfect field recorder version. Now, in March 2023, this song is finally ready to go out into the big big world and be released as my fourth single.

At concerts, I use this song to talk about social media and how important it is to be aware that not everything you see on social media, is the "complete truth". That includes myself. Be aware of what you're consuming online. Social media can be an amazing, beautiful and creative place, but it can also lead to comparing yourself too much and even feeling shit about yourself. Be aware of that.

For the single cover I had this idea of portraying myself in a "perfect situation" - like a prom queen or beauty pageant winner. I wanted to show, that even though everything might look perfect on the outside, not everything has to be perfect on the inside. I am very very happy to have worked with Johanna Lea Lassnig on this cover - she's truly amazing and I had a super fun time shooting these pics!

As always, huge thanks go out to Fridolin Krenn, who did the mix & master of this song! Even though it's based on a very raw field recorder version, it was still very important to blend everything together nicely and Frido did a great job (as he always does).
