F.A.N - "Stay In"

At the beginning of march 2020 I had this "groundbreaking" idea of writing a Corona-themed song (surprisingly 91763537281 artists had this idea as well) which I wanted to be a motivating, happy song to encourage everyone to stay at home in order to keep themselves, and everyone else, safe. I immediately knew who to ask for help to bring this idea to life and this is how Frido and Niki joined in. Special thanks also go to Michi for this SICK video, Lilli for these amazing keys and Valentin for the great mastering!
Now, 4 months later, we are ready to publish this baby. I know we are kinda late with publishing a song about Corona, but I like to think of it as song in memory of a crazy and weird time (and with the numbers rising in some countries again, it may not be a bad idea for them to listen to this song).
Stay safe everyone!

Astrid Hirzberger - Vocals, Songwriting
Niki Waltersdorferdorfer - Drums, Organ, Guitar, Backing Vocals
Fridolin Krenn - Mixing, Producing, Bass, Backing Vocals and everything else

lyrics:

SARS-CoV-2, clearly not the best thing for me and you
more than 900 000 cases and numbers rising in all places
me and you are probably not people who get sick from this bitch
which doesn't mean you should go outside and put others at risk
'cause all you gotta do is

STAY IN, gotta stay in baby

going outside and attending Corona parties
doesn't show that you are strong and nothing can stop your flow
it only shows that you are a stupid egoist who would rather put
other people's health at risk even though you know
that all you gotta do is

STAY IN, gotta stay in baby

I know you might be asking yourself now
what am I supposed to do at home?
well let me tell you
there are so many things that don't require leaving your cave
reading a book, learning how to play chess,
finally sewing that hole in your dress,
video chatting with all your loved ones,
cleaning your room that's been dirty for months,
dancing your ass off to whatever comes next,
decluttering your laptop from photos of your ex,
finally getting into drawing again,
or trying to sleep for as long as you can
it's not that hard
'cause all you gotta do is

STAY IN, gotta stay in baby

BUT ART WILL GROW // a video release & concert at KIZ RoyalKino Graz - 16/12/2018 - exactly a year ago

This day will always hold a special place in my heart ♥
and as it was exactly a year ago I decided to upload a video dedicated to it (with my song “Dear Beloved” in the background).
I have to say, the 16th of December 2018 was a hella stressful day but also a very exciting and successful day for me, because it was my first solo show/concert ever and it was sould outttt (still cannot believe itttt!!!!).
Many many thanks go to the lovely people of the KIZ RoyalKino Graz who trusted me and let me have a concert in their cinema (which was their first concert ever!), Oscar for supporting me all the way and for filming these snippets, Nino for joining me on stage for a song, Elisa for making the music video for “But Art Will Grow” and aaaaaaaaaall the beautiful, kind, lovely, sweet people who showed up at my event! thank you all for your love and support ♥♥♥
maybe I’ll have a concert at a cinema again one day...

HERBSTSEUFZER

finally a new video ayy!

the "Herbstseufzer" is my first german song ever and I actually wrote it because it was a homework for university. Our professor gave us this beautiful poem called "Herbstseufzer" by Luise Hensel and told us to turn it into a song. As I was quite happy with my result, I decided to play this song at my concerts as well.
Two weeks ago I had the honour to work with Stephan Herzog on a beautiful live video for this song. We filmed it at the Kultursalon Graz, which is a gorgeous big room with an amazing piano and decided to go for a simple "live video" vibe and nothing to wild.
Big thanks go to Konstantin Drewes who mixed and mastered the recording!

I am very happy with the result and therefore even more excited to show it to you!

you can download this song for free (or not for free if you want to donate something) on my bandcamp account:

by the waaaay, I have a fb page now! leave a like if u want to stay informed:

the original poem by Luise Hensel:

Die Vöglein weg geflogen,
Die letzten Blumen schon verblüht,
Der Himmel grau umzogen,
Der Sonne Licht verglüht;

O Sommer, schöner Sommer,
Dass so dein Zauber flieht!

Der Nordwind hat entführet
Wohl all den lichten, bunten Schein
Und was er nur berühret,
Das nickt und schlummert ein.

O Winter, öder Winter,
Wie traurig wirst du sein!

BUT ART WILL GROW // acoustic version with Riansyah Razali

download this version for free here

Well well

I think everyone knows now that I've been travelling around a bit in Southeast Asia blah blah and all that
But not everyone might know, that while travelling we met some super cool and talented musicians. And one of them is Riansyah Razali. We met him when he was playing at Deus Ex Machina with his friend Alex (their duo is called Relax).
One day Rian and I decided to sit together and work on a song - I really wanted to make a different version of my song "But Art Will Grow" and was very lucky when Rian agreed to do it. Working this version out was a lot of fun - we changed some chords and added a little melody part after each chorus and I feel like the whole mood of this song totally changed.
The video was filmed at our homestay by Oscar where we stayed at, but we actually performed this song at two other locations too - one of them was Deus.
I am very lucky to have met these wonderful people and will hopefully see them again one day.
