Santa Baby Cover // musician edition

It was December 21, 2018 and I was bored as hell. I actually had a concert on that day at Cafe Kaiserfeld (which was really cool by the way) and had nothing else to do than practice for that concert. I always knew that I wanted to cover a Christmas song, but I never got to that point where I actually did it. A couple of days before December 21 I was partying with friends, getting a bit tipsy, talking about music (Christmas songs in particular) and one girl had the great idea of covering Santa Baby. And I thought "Oh well, the original lyrics are shit so why not make my own version?". So this is how I ended up in my pjs, two days later, changing the lyrics of Santa Baby, recording the whole thing and making the most stupid music video, that has ever existed, in one day.
I know that this blogpost is very late, but if you happen to watch my video now in February, have fun!

Lyrics:

Santa baby, slip a keytar under the tree for me

Been an awful good girl
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby, a 61 midi keyboard too,
light blue

I'll wait up for you, dear
Santa baby, and  hurry down the chimney tonight

Think of all the mics I’ve kissed

Now think of all the chords that I haven't missed
Next year I could be also good
If you'll check off my Christmas list

Santa baby, I want a mic and really that's not a lot

Been an angel all year
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa honey one thing that I really do need, the code
To an ableton live
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa cutie, and fill my stocking with a drum pad and gigs

Sign your 'x' on the line
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Come and trim my Christmas tree

With decorations from the korg company
I really do believe in you
Now let's see if you believe in me

Santa baby, forgot to mention one thing for me, LP

I don't mean someone else’s

Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry, tonight

But Art Will Grow

alright alright

I know this blogpost is very overdue, but I was actually planning to write a big ass post about the premiere of this music video at the cinema, the whole day, add pictures we took and explain everything that happened in detail.

Turned out we actually had more video footage of that day than pictures so there's actually going to be a super cool video about that day, kinda like a vlog I guess?, with a new song too. So stay tuned for that one!

and for everyone who is confused by me talking about a premiere in a cinema - here's a short explanation:

a couple of months ago a very good friend of mine, Elisa, was told to make a short draft for a music video for University and luckily I was the one she asked to do it with. After finishing that short draft we decided (or I convinced her?) to make a whole music video out of it. So we filmed more footage and months later the baby was finished. Because it was the "very first traditional professional typical music video" I wanted to give it the attention it deserved and decided to show it for the first time in a cinema. Not just any cinema, but the amazing KIZ RoyalKino (the cinema that I actually work at. coincidence? I think not.) Long story short: on December 16, 2018 I ended up having a SOLD OUT music video premiere and a concert at a cinema. It was one of the best days of my whole life.

Lyrics:

When I was younger
Just weeks ago
I still remember
the pain and sorrow
now I tell myself
The past is past
and our love mess
could never last

so I try to forget the good memories that still please my heart
slowly I realise that it takes time to heal
but art will grow

When I am older
I have one wish
I want a soul there
 who feels the same
so I make a wish
for that special one
while in my head I quietly realise
that I need to be that one

so I try to forget the good memories that still please my heart
slowly I realise that it takes time to heal
but art will grow

Dreamin' feat. Packed Rich

OK soooooooo
Back in May this year, I met this really cool dude in Vienna and we sort if clicked from the first moment we met. We had really long talks about music up to the moment when we decided that we could actually write/record a song together.
The lyrics of " Dreamin' " are just pretty random phrases that I had stuck in my head on that day, because I was quite mad at the way some universities treat music and in general how some people tend to think about life n stuff. So I was glad to put these thoughts into a new song.
I was just randomly singing these phrases of how I thought they could fit the piano parts that he had improvised before. We recorded it and just a couple of days later Alexis sent me this rad song. I was super happy with the result and I am even happier to share it with everyone else.
The music video contains some recordings that I've made while driving to Vienna and back. I later put them on my laptop and got creative with the Kaleidoscope effect. well, I kinda escalated with that effect 'cause I thought it looked super cool

oh and Alexis drew my name.
thought it looked pretty cool so I had to put it here

all they do is run and run
trying to get to the sun
cursing at the rain
they might call us insane
'cause we refuse staying the same

'cause we still have hope in our hopeless dreams

Tell me boy

"Tell me boy" is a song that I wrote around last October/November when the autumn/winter-blues hit me once again. There's not much to say about this song as the lyrics already tell everything and I think that each person should make up their own story around it.

I've always wanted to write a song for guitar, because I love the sound of it, but my guitar skills are very limited, or pretty shitty as I would say, so I would never be able to write a "hard" or "difficult" song for this amazing instrument. The main accompaniment is very easy, but I've always wanted to add more to it. And that's where Georg happened. We were jamming at his birthday party a couple of months ago and I decided to play this song. He joined in with his mandolin and I instantly loved the sound. I knew that I wanted him to record this song with me, because it would make the whole song more special, and of course better, in my opinion. We sat together for an afternoon and Georg added his mandolin-, and  even singing- skills to my song and I couldn't be happier with the result.
The video is just a bunch of filming material of what it looks like when we are recording.
And Kebab the cat.

anyways
I hope you enjoy this song

the lyrics:

and we were lonely together
pushing each other away but staying together
every forgotten touch I could remember
while my fighting heart would slowly surrender

Tell me boy when you saw me lying there
did you leave me alone because you didn't care
enough to go through this pain here with me
or were you afraid of what your heart would finally see
2x

I was trying to run away from you
with every step I realised my way was towards you
You were afraid of being trapped by someone else
but the only person to lock you away would be yourself

Tell me boy when you saw me lying there
did you leave me alone because you didn't care
enough to go through this pain here with me
or were you afraid of what your heart would finally see
2x

Tell me boy now you haven't seen me for months
and these scars, as you see, they have healed on these arms
how do you feel when you look straight at me
do you see love or hate, tell me what do you see

Somebody that I used to know - a cover featuring Georg Neureiter

we did it again!
Georg and I decided to sit together once again and cover a pretty cool song. About one week ago we started working on this cover and two days ago we actually recorded it on the Grazer Schlossberg. This video was the first, and only take, because none of us made a big mistake and I was quite happy about that as you may be able to see at the end of the video.

hope you enjoy watching
